Internal Medicine
Performed duties of a registered nurse, to pre and post-op patients. Administered medications, performed bedside skill sets not limited to: assessments, wound care, patient education, IV therapy, monitoring and reporting, collaboration, assisting with procedures, patient advocacy and emergency responses.
Endoscopy Suit
Performed endoscopies, ERCPS, bronchoscopies and colonoscopies. Developed skills in using biopsy forceps, snares, ERBE, dilatation devices and much more equipment. Operated as a pre-op and triage nurse as well as a PACU nurse. Monitored patients after the procedure and made sure they were ready to be discharged. Worked as charge nurse on the unit.
Pediatric ER
Treated and monitored patients in critical condition including MI, CVA, gunshot wounds, sepsis, respiratory distress, and much more. At times, took care of admitted ICU patients in the ER awaiting beds. Became proficient in critical thinking, decision making, fast and efficient response time to emergencies, heplock insertions, medication administration, leadership roles among other RN’s, documentation, and collaborating with MDs, RTs, PTs, surgeons and consults for the betterment of the patient.
Adult ER
